What this site is

HomeChargerCalc.com publishes researched planning information about home electric vehicle charging: guides, reference charts, product research and calculators. It is an information site. It is not an electrical contractor, not an engineering practice, not an inspection service and not a retailer, and nothing on it constitutes professional electrical, legal, tax or financial advice or creates a professional relationship of any kind.

Personal and professional use of the content

You may read, print and share pages from this site for your own project, and you may print a chart and hand it to an electrician quoting your job. That is what the charts are for. You may quote a reasonable extract with clear attribution and a link back to the page it came from.

You may not republish substantial portions of the site, reproduce it as your own content, sell it, use it to train a model where doing so would substitute for the original, or scrape the site systematically in a way that burdens the service. Automated access that degrades availability for other readers may be blocked.

Intellectual property

Product names, brand names and logos belong to their respective owners and are used here descriptively and nominatively. Underlying facts, published code table values and manufacturer specifications are not claimed as ours; the selection, arrangement, derivation and explanation of them are.

Electrical work is your responsibility

Nothing on this site is instructions for performing electrical work. EV charging circuits are a continuous high-current load governed by the National Electrical Code as adopted and amended in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for engaging a licensed electrician to size and install any circuit, and for obtaining any permit and inspection your jurisdiction requires. Do not attempt 240 volt wiring yourself.

Calculators

The calculators here apply published formulas to values you supply and run entirely in your browser. They cannot see your installation, cannot account for existing loads, terminal ratings, ambient conditions, raceway fill or local amendments, and are not a load calculation, a conductor specification or a certification. Results are a planning aid. You accept that any decision based on them is yours and should be verified by a licensed electrician.

We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or practices, and a link is not an endorsement of everything found there. Prices, specifications and availability shown here were accurate when researched and change without notice. The retailer's own listing at the time of purchase is authoritative. Build totals are the sum of researched line items, include researched labour estimate ranges rather than quotes, and are planning figures.
